It is my privilege to Endorse Mr. Robert Connelly for city counsel.
I have known Bob for over 13 years, as a wonderful and supportive friend and neighbor. He also represents to me, an enthusiastic, and most appropriate activist for our neighborhood community, Alamo Oaks. He is currently serving as President elected to our home owner’s association.
I have always considered Mr. Connelly to be a watchdog for our community , incredibly responsible and helpful, and assisting me in my level of knowledge and awareness by communications regarding our local issues. After moving into the neighborhood, and both of my parents passing away, Bob became my substitute “dad.” He has helped both my husband and I more times than I can count, on projects large and small.
My three young children know they have the best neighbors “ever!” And what a wonderful example he is to them.We have always felt “safe” because of his presence, and indeed he has taken care of minor emergencies for us when we have been out of town.
He has spearheaded community improvement projects, and indeed, after assuring his neighbors support, practically took on each project single-handedly as the rest of us couldn’t find the time to complete much needed improvements. One example that immediately comes to mind is the year he checked with our court and got bids for repaving our private drive, and after we all agreed on the project, it was done when I arrived home late from work one day.
Bob was my only resource in reminding me of town meetings and issues that I needed to be aware of, yet somehow may have personally missed or failed to remember from other notifications. If it wasn’t for his support, I would never have known what was going on. He is, however, never judgmental or pressuring regarding my voting choices. He is available for lively discussion, but I have never felt bias on his part, just sincere interest in allowing and encouraging support and involvement where ever I felt the need.
Despite my busy schedule, Bob has never made me feel obligated. Rather, he has been kind enough to inform me in a non intrusive manner about important issues that affect both the street that we live on, neighbors in need of support, and bigger issues regarding our surrounding local communities.
I cannot think of another person whom I would trust to always do the right thing, and one who I feel would think about all appropriate concerns regarding what will be best for the future of our new city, Alamo, California.
